Checklist

Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 October 2026

Checklist never sees your lists. There's no account and no ads, and the developer can't see what you write.

This policy covers Checklist for iPhone, iPad and Mac, made by Ifeanyi Onuoha.

Your lists

Your lists, items, templates and reminders are stored on your device.

With iCloud sync (Checklist Pro), they're also kept in your private iCloud account, so they appear on your other devices. Only you can see them there; Apple's privacy policy covers iCloud. Turn sync off at any time in Checklist's Settings.

Widgets, Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight use the lists on your device. Reminders are scheduled on your device.

Making lists from text and photos

Describe a list uses Apple Intelligence on your device. Scan a written list reads the photo on your device. Neither sends your text or photos anywhere. Checklist only uses the camera or a photo when you choose one.

Anonymous usage events

If you started using Checklist with version 2.0 or later, the app sends anonymous usage events to TelemetryDeck, such as that setup finished or the Pro screen was shown. They include basic details like the app and system version, never your lists, and aren't linked to you or used to track you.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple. Checklist uses RevenueCat to check whether you have Checklist Pro: it receives an anonymous ID and your Checklist purchases, never your name or payment details.

What Checklist doesn't do

Deleting your data

Deleting a list removes it from your device, and from iCloud when sync is on. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. Because Checklist holds nothing that identifies you, there's nothing for the developer to hand over or delete, but you can always write with questions.

Children

Checklist is suitable for everyone and doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
